And somewhere in that first project—tearing out walls, rethinking layouts, figuring out how light moves through a room—I realized I had a gift. I could take a vision, whether it was mine or someone else's, and actually build it.
Those early projects taught me something that still drives every job we do: renovation isn't about the materials or the timeline. It's about translation. Someone shows you a sketch on a napkin or describes how they want to feel in a space, and your job is to understand the feeling underneath the words. Then you make it real. The first few years were rough. I made mistakes that cost money and time. But each one was a lesson in how to listen better, how to problem-solve faster, and how to keep a client's vision intact even when the reality of a 1970s foundation argues back.
